Wow what a ride...

So I really suck at keeping up with this thing...who's idea was it anyway...HILARY!!! Just kidding. things have been pretty crazy around here.
Makayla and I went to Ottawa with my mom to visit Cork and the kids. Ian was gone to Germany otherwise we would have visited him too. We had an awesome time visiting, hanging out and doing some touristy things. It was so fun to watch the kids with Makayla. Makayla did awesome flying and traveling. SHe is such a good easy going baby. I am very lucky for that. While we were there we peirced Makayla's ears and they are so so cute. I have now decided that every baby girl should get her ears peirced, it is so darling! We got to go check out parliament, the canadian mint, Watertown, New York, 1000 Islands, Boldt Castle, and many other things. It was great to see. Ottawa and area have so much to see and do its amazing. I want to go back so badly, but maybe with Britt next time. It was really hard for Britt to be away from his girls for so long. We talked everyday but its just not the same. When Makayla spotted him at the airport, she was so excited and smiling, it was awesome to see. It was nice to get away but like always its nice to come home.
We got home and Makayla started teething. A process that can and does go on and on. She has had all the symptoms of teething, moody, drooling, sucking her lip, hot gums, etc. but nothing yet. Here's hoping it will happen sooner than later. She has also started to act strange a bit and be quite the little cling on to me. Its so funny, her lips goes out in a pathetic attempt to get attention and than its all down hill from there. Once she has me or Britt she will smile at whomever was holding her. Its quite funny actually. It's amazing how they learn so young to get what they want.
I started going to back to work very part time. Last Wednesday was my first shift and it was 6 hours. Lanny came and babysat until Britt got home to be with her. Apparently the benefits of being hearing impaired are to "feverize" you children easily. Makayla was fussy and wouldn't settle for anything, so he put her in her bed and closed the door and turned off his hearing aides, apparently she slept for about 45 minutes. It wasn't bad enough that he won't every babysit again so that's good. Other than that she did really well. They took her swimming. I was so glad everyone handled it so well, I was a bit of a basket case, trying not to call to much . Everyone survived just fine, so I might have to do it again!
I have been having gall bladder problems since about March and have been waiting to have my surgery. My surgery was booked for early December, however today they called and I am going in tomorrow on a cancellation. i hope it goes well and can't wait to eat pizza! I am really excited to get it done and over with. It is such terrible nagging aching pain that I think I will feel like a whole new woman when its done! Makayla is going to have to take a bottle tommorrow at least so that should prove to be interesting. I am sure she will get hungry enough to take it.
So that's all that's happening here....I will keep you posted with any new developments!

Another day, another blog!

Well, let's see, today was a pretty quiet day around here.
My visiting teachers came. I always love the messages they bring and the spirit that comes with them. I love visiting and getting to know them. It's so great to be part of such an amazing organization. Makayla loves it when they come and talk to her, its a nice change of scenery from seeing mom all the time.
I just finished a really good book. I read Brooke Shields book, Down Came the Rain. It's about her journey and challenge thru post partum depression. It was a very enlightening book, and I feel like I can get thru anything and that post partum depression is still so misunderstood and not something people asked for. I think that it needs to be treated much like other diseases, say diabetes or cancer. No one asks for those kinds of trails in their lives. I am so grateful for my great support network, for my family and friends who are always there for me! I am so blessed!

Here goes nothing!!

So I decided to join the ranks and become a blogger! Hilary was supposed to help me set it up weeks ago but got preoccupied...the joys of being newly weds!! lol just kidding Hil!
Well let's see...Makayla the love of my life, and most wonderful child ever. She just started rolling over and giggling and also found her thumb this week...She is very funny and I love watching her facial expressions and how she tries to communicate with us. Very cute.
I am not really sure what to write about so I will just ramble. That's something I am good at.
We started working out at the Y this week, and hopefully it continues to work for us. I go with my sister in law while the men watch the babies and than the men go while we have the babies. SO far so good...but its only been two days. Hopefully we can keep up with it and I can get rid of some of this lovely baby flab!
